<p>This screen shot shows what happens when you press the Hint button. MathXpert could take the next step by itself, but the Hint button does not disclose as much information as ShowStep or AutoStep. Instead, just a hint is given--perhaps the student will then be able to take the step herself. If not, she or he can always try AutoStep or ShowStep next. </p> <img src="demo/hint.gif">
