These are Dutch doughnuts and apple fritters, traditionally eaten on New Year's Eve and ONLY on New Year's eve, but I guess they had to finish off the supply. The next day I took my flight home. At the airport the bank clerk where I changed money mistakenly thought I lived in Holland and tried hard to sell me travel insurance for my vacation in the States. I was so pleased that my Dutch was good enough that he could make this mistake! </FONT></TD>
